The top image is a postcard depicting the ship upon which the men of the 1st. and 2nd. Battalion of the 328th Infantry returned home. The second image is a photograph of the men of the 328th embarking for this journey. It is believed that the surviving members of "the Other Sixteen" were on this ship with the exception of Otis Merrithew and Bernard Early, who had been hospitalized at this time for injuries sustained in the battle, and Alvin York, who had been whisked away to a "hero's welcome".
