Below is a slide show comprised of three notable letters from G.E.Buxton to Otis Merrithew. The first is a 2-page letter stating that he would "get the ball rolling" for Merrithew regarding a recommendation that Merrithew receive the DSC. The second is a letter in which Buxton indicates that he will send a copy of the Merrithew Affidavit to Alvin York. These letters were written on May 19th and 29th, respectively. The third letter, written by Buxton in October of 1932, addresses the omission of all the members of the famed detachment in the May 1919 Brigade Citation written by J.R.Lindsey. The last document in the slide show is a copy of J.R. Lindsey's letter as corrected to include all of the members of the detachment, both survivors and those killed in action.
