Below is a slide show consisting of two artlcles from the Holyoke Telegram and Telegraph, Joseph Konotski's hometown paper. The atricles report on Konotski's invitation and trip to Washington for the 1929 War College Event. As with the other survivors, as news of Konotski's exploits and involvement in the famous battle spread, efforts on the part of the American Legion to award Konotski with the Meadl of Honor began to take shape. These efforts included Senator David Walsh and Congressman Allen Treadway of Massachusetts. Efforts on behalf of the other men are also mentioned in the second article, "Konotski Leaves by Train Today for Washington".
