Below is a slide show of newspaper articles covering the War College event in which concern arose over the lack of recognition for the men, aside for York, that fought in this battle.  The first article informs of a "cool reception" the Connecticut men (Early, Beardsley and Merrithew) received upon arriving at the carnival.  The second article reports "Belated" honors for Early while hinting at honors for all of the men.  The third article explains that the DSC would be "bestowed" up Early advising that honors for all appeared eminent, but may not be possible due to lapse of time between the event and recomendations.  In the final article, the story was picked up by the New York Times.
